Cast, or “Poured”, bars are created when molten metal is poured into a cast, mold, or any other chosen shape. Typically, the backside of the bar is left blank with sometimes visible pour lines. Minted bars are created by taking a cast that is heated, pressed, and rolled to a specific width and thickness. The strip is then punched into precise “blanks” pieces, and then struck with a specific design. The design is on both sides and will include the metal type, weight, purity, and sometimes the name of the issuing mint or its mintmark. Cast bars are typically a simpler process than Minted bars and it’s reflected in the manufacturing costs, but both styles of bar can be produced in a variety of metals, shapes, weights, purities, and designs.
There’s no need to supply your own feedstock as CNT has relationships with top refiners and suppliers to create a steady stream of metal into our facility, allowing for a high-quality product and a consistent production schedule.
CNT Minting is a division of CNT Inc, a family-owned precious metal business established in 1972. CNT originally came from its storefront name “Coins ‘N Things” but has since transitioned into one of the largest privately-owned wholesale precious metal companies. Now in its third generation of single-family ownership, CNT Inc. provides services in Trading, Hedging/Financing, Depository Storage, and Mint Manufacturing.
CNT Minting has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification – which applies to all precious metal bullion products produced at CNT Mint and reaffirms CNT’s reputation as a leader in the precious metals industry. Not only are these products made to the highest quality specifications, but they are also eligible to be put into Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA). To notate this certificate on our products, our Mintmark is carried on a majority of our bullion items & their packaging.
CNT Mintmark encapsulates the fluidity of the precious metals market, while unifying and symbolizing continuity, growth, stability, trust, and tradition — key aspects of a family company with a 50+ year legacy in the precious metals business.
